Buck’s of Woodside is a very interesting restaurant. And by “very interesting restaurant” I mean batshit crazy nutbar. Like, it’s pretty crazy décorwise.
It bills itself as one of the most popular restaurants for big tech industry execs. This can be attributed to the fact that it is located in Woodside, which is at the critical midpoint between actually interesting places to go.
Buck’s has a lot of different options. I wasn’t that hungry when I went, but also somehow decided to get a bacon cheeseburger.
The most interesting part of Buck’s burgers is that they come with onion rings on them. Not with them, but actually between the buns. You may be saying to yourself, “those are called grilled onions, or maybe even regular onions”. This is incorrect. They are in fact onion rings.
It must be said. This is my new favorite idea ever. It’s such a good place to put onion rings. I can’t believe I’d never experienced or thought of this earlier. What’s perfect about this arrangement is that the onion rings are perfect.
You know the problem with onion rings, right? Too thick, and you get a slimy gross onion inside crust that shoots out like a lubricated watermelon seed as soon as you take a bite. That’s uncool.
Buck’s, however, has prevented this problem. They follow strict onion conservationist ideals which make the onion rings almost entirely batter. This is great, because no one really likes the onion part anyway, and especially not when they are slimy slippery motherfuckers that run away from your mouth.
There was a choice of sides, and I opted for the “fresh” fruit. You can tell by my hilarious quotes that it was not actually fresh, so I won’t comment on that much more.
In conclusion, this is a delicious hamburger that you should definitely try to eat and pay for.
